DJGPP (or more specifically, gcc) can't use the runtime libraries (.lib)
that the DirectX functions come packed up in.  gcc doesn't understand
the .lib format in question, and to convert from .lib to the native
format (.a) is complex because djgpp employs a different memory-model.

If you do come across a workaround, please let me know!
