DEGUI is a good complement for Allegro's 2.2 GUI. WHAM is a good windowing 
system for Allegro. Morello's GUI is other. (SWORD was named by other) (For link see signature).

A little correction: You must download the sources from Borland and 
additionally the sources of RHIDE where the patchs for DJGPP are.
For text perhaps TPUI is enough (I think is inferior than TVision but simpler, 
no offence Taupin ;-)
