In comparing the usefulness of the various DOS colour modes, I found that if I
displayed a green colour gradation on the screen, with 32 shades of green (as
in 15 bit per pixel modes) I could still distinguish each colour from the next
and see the steps between the colours, but with 64 shades of green (as in 16
bit per pixel modes) I could not and the colour gradation looked smooth.
