Hans,

The required DPMI server is freely available from
ftp://ftp.cdrom.com/pub/simtelnet/gnu/djgpp/csdpmi3b.zip.  The source of
which is in csdpmi3s.zip.  To use, simply unzip the binary
(csdpmi3b.zip) distribution and put the resulted CWSDPMI.EXE in your DOS
%PATH%.

I have no experience of running CWSDPMI.EXE programs and XMS/EMS
programs at the same time though.
