Here I thought that the echo command merely showed on the screen the lines that were processing in the autoexec.bat, to see whats going on. Well apparently there is more to it than that. I guess I'l have to take a look at the echo command. I was just about to delete all of the gcc files and redo it all from scratch when I read your message. Needless to say you saved me quite a bit of time. Thanks a LOT for your help. .... Alex
