Yes, but the problem is it will let you Alt Tab out, then fail to
restore the fullscreen window mode correctly or at all (frequently
crashing your app) when you switch back. This is even more annoying when
some background app decides to grab the focus (like my mail client;)

That Windoze correctly intercepts the original mode set proves that it
is capable of capturing the state.
