The TeX port is fairly new, so I guess the latest CD doesn't have it
yet.

You can get the binaries, no need to compile.

From any DJGPP archive (e.g., ftp://ftp.simtel.net/pub/simtelnet/gnu/djgpp)
in the v2apps/tex directory.  Begin by downloading the file TeX.README,
it should tell you the rest.
