Yes, gcc2721.zip is more recent than gcc272.zip. For the version 
ssytem, think of it as suppressed trailing zeros (just like math). 
2.7.2 (gcc272.zip) could be thought of as 2.7.2.0. I think the fourth 
digit is the patch level, but I'm not sure.
