No, you can't do it, because theese files contains compiled code
specific for OS platform. 
Ex.: DJGPP/lib's use specific for DOS system calls that does not exists
on SCO platform and with FreeBSD we have the same problem.
You'll need to find theese .a libraries sources (if they can downloaded
free). May be if you look FSF official site you'll find them.
