These are exactly the reasons that were the motivation for the port.

There is also a third: the DJGPP support is now part of the official
Texk package (I submitted the diffs to its maintainer), so when future
versions are released, you should be able to compile them right out of
the box and have all the goodies right away, instead of waiting for
the maintainer of emTeX to catch up.
