I thought MIDAS sounded a bit cleaner when multiple sound effects
and digital music were happening. It also seemed to work better with
Soundblasters. It had a better sound setup hooks. That was just 
my experience though, your mileage may vary, etc, etc.

I might add that if you want to use Allegro, SEAL would be a better
bet. You can't use Allegro's timer routines with MIDAS. 

In short: if you want to use Allegro, use SEAL. If you don't,
go with MIDAS (which also gives you its decent builtin timer 
mechanism).
