Paul, please take a moment to reflect on the message you are replying
to, before you draw to fire such statements.

The amount of free space I mentioned is required for a FULL SOURCE
installation, plus the object files which are produced when Emacs is
compiled.

If anybody knows how much space are required to store the sources to,
say, MS Word 7, or any other package of comparable size, let him/her
speak.
