I usually make a point of telling people exactly where in the FAQ the 
info is.

You probably do this for a fee.  I agree that if somebody didn't like the 
way I reply to customers who pay me, they would have a good reason to 
complain.  

But that is not the case here.  In this case, I'm being yelled at for a 
service that I give out for free, a service that many people find 
valuable and tell me this in so many words.

It is also a case of misunderstanding, as I tried to explain in my other 
message today.  Anybody could make a mistake or misinterpret what 
somebody else said, but precisely because of that we shouldn't IMHO be 
too hasty in condemning what others say, especially on the Internet, 
where we cannot see the body language and other crucial hints.
