I think Allegro takes game programming upto a higher level. I always wanted
to program a game, but don't have the knowledge or the time to make such a
library myself. I have tried in the past, but it lacked speed and other
things.
And if you have a lib that has all you need, than why bother to re-invent
the wheel?
Thanks to DJGPP we got rid of the 64k segment barrier, and have a flat
memory model, incl. virtual memory.
Added Rhide for a nice development enviroment...  Who could ask for more
(no Direct-X, thanks...)
