i think this is discussed in chapter 17 of the FAQ. now, i have heard of
a converter for 32 bit WIN-COFF format libs and obj's but i have never
used it. if you are referring to 16 bit, the answers a solid no.

for text mode stuff, look at conio functions.
for graphics, there is allegro and grx201 and others.
