Subject: g77 installation?

I installed g77 and compiled and linked a program with it.
The compile and link went quite successfully but path not found
was sent out to stderr five times before it was finished.
I installed g77 in the djgpp directory and allowed it to place
files in directories of its own choosing.
So the questionI have now is what's likely
going on here? Is this one of those trivial linux type errors a linux
system generates when it starts up or liikely to be something more than that?
My path to djgpp.env is set correctly as are several other djgpp paths.
It would be nice if these software packages would all
search the djgpp.env file for locations of things but
evidently that's not yet a standard in the djgpp community yet.

Microsoft asks me where I want to go today but UNIX gets me there.
