my own experience is that the emm386 supplied with opendos is just not
working right.  i am quite certain that caldera is aware of this, i
guess they are hoping SOMEONE will fix it for them.  alas, i am not that
good a programmer, and so far, nobody that is seems to have
materialized.  

this is particularly sad for us DJGPP folks, who are probably the REAL
audience for opendos! (who else would get excited about a "new" release
of dos??  the multitasking really requires a bit of hacking to make it
work effectively (lots of batch rewrites!!), but some of the utilities
ARE improvements.  i thought nwcache worked very nicely!)

just my opinion, not trying to get in a holy war.
