Yes, I know it's a FAQ by now, but I haven't seen the answer, so please
bear with me. I need a tile based games engine similar to Zelda and
other similar role playing games, preferably using Allegro. I have seen
the Manic Mazes engine, and I think it would be a good starting point,
however I need to be able to create levels. Is there any sort of editor
available for it, or if not how would I do this. I realise that the
format must be quite simple as the maps are created in just a few lines,
and would think that you could pipe level data in via an Allegro .DAT
file. Is this possible, and if so, how? Please help, otherwise I'll
have to ditch DJGPP for this project and use the awful Boreland C++.

P.S. Shawn, for Allegro you can never be thanked enough. Without it, I'd
still be plugging away at the Boreland Graphics Library (Shudders)
