There are several ways you can do this.  I will list them in order 
of what I think are the easiest.

1) Get pgcc (www.goof.com/pcg).  It supports stabs debugging out of box.  
This of course means you get all of the (possible) problems 
with a developers version.

2) Beg and plead and maybe somebody who just has a stabs enabled
gcc will send it to you.  I know Robert uses it but I suspect he
has other modifications to his gcc as well.

3) Go to SETs homepage (sorry don't know URL), download the patches
that are there to support stabs debugging format, apply them to the
gcc source and rebuild.
