But what would you put in it? There are some packages which I can't describe
except as "optional". For instance, if you include Objective C, those who
don't use it will be stuck with it anyway, and it eats hard drive space. If
you don't, people will clog this newsgroup with questions like, "The Readme
says you can compile Objective C, why can't I?" and will have to be told to
get more stuff. Plus, what do you do about packages that are only needed for
recompiling others, like sed, awk, fileutils, etc?
IMHO, the modular approach is best. I prefer being able to control what I
install on my computer. If it turns out not to be enough, *then* I can get more.
