if you already have the faq, read section 19. i do not understand how
legalities could make code work or not work.

there is no ansi c++ standard yet. it is still in draft form. i have
seen posts regarding problems with templates and exceptions in the past.
your best bet is to search the mailing list archives at

afaik, gcc (and therefore djgpp) complies 100% to the ANSI C standard.
but that has nothing to do with templates and exceptions.
