I found DJGPP when I was searching for a real Pascal compiler to use
in teaching a beginning programming class.  The combination of
gpc and RHIDE is a better programming environment than I use
at work.

So ... yes, because it's free.  Also because it is ANSI compliant.
I had located other compilers/interpreters, but they couldn't handle
pointers or create stand-alone executables.
