Could this be made more clear in the `v2gnu/emacs.README' file? Anyway,
I don't have disk space to install the elisp sources, so how does this
affect my building of emacs?

No, it doesn't. Actually, I run `make src' and stubify emacs manually,
again because I'm scarce of disk space, but that shouldn't matter. BTW,
config.bat needs also `cp', but doesn't check for it.

While I'm unable to build emacs properly, could you make your unstripped
emacs.exe available, or at least post a symified traceback of it
crashing with 22 env vars set?
