I have *no* idea how much help this will be, but there is a speech
synthesizer for Emacs in Linux called Emacspeak. It may be possible to port
it, although I know nothing about it. You can get it by ftp from
sunsite.unc.edu in the apps/sound/speech directory (probably under the Linux
tree) (I haven't checked this).
