it was just a movie paul, relax, you're not missing anything. if your
really interested, and not just wanking around, awk is well documented,
and pretty straightforward, with a condition/action structure kind of
like flex, but with the stuff they should have put in flex thrown in
too.

i don't think you'd want flex to be like perl, though.

on second thought, if it had lots of curly braces, maybe it was awk...
