Hmm... this seems to be the latest from v2.1, which is the same as was
used to compile the programs from v2gnu.

Could you fetch the sources for one of the v2gnu programs that crash,
rebuild them on your machine and see if they crash or not?  This will
allow to decide whether this is something peculiar to DOSEmu (or
perhaps the way you set it up on your system), or to the binaries in
v2gnu.
