I think DJGPP has always had a conflict between gcc and as about what
".align 2" means; neither interpretation is "standard" for djgpp.  So
far it has caused only rare problems, so has not been fixed.  Anyone
who has the time and inclination to fix it one way or the other, and
submit the patches to the FSF so that they are OFFICIAL, is welcome to
do it.
