You'll find in the v2 directory if the site you downloaded the files from
a file called README.1ST; this tells you what you should download, how you
should set up your system and the basic commands to compile programs.

You should also refer to the early chapters of the FAQ, which explain
things like system configuration and compatibility. The advanced chapters
of the FAQ are best left until you need them (if at all).
