OK, the suggested possibilities are:

        Do nothing. Always an option.

Do nothing except direct Allegro material to rec.games.programmer

Someone volunteers to host an Allegro-specific mailing list.

            - Who?

            - Less easy to find than a newsgroup. Expect a good deal of
Allegro traffic to remain on c.o.m.d.

            - Newsgroups are generally more convenient than mail,
because you can pace yourself freely and topic-select
              better.

            + Less spam.

+ Expect it to be somewhat more focussed than a newsgroup.

. Doesn't "take up Usenet space", but IMO it takes a
narrower topic than this for that to be a consideration.

        Newgroup comp.os.msdos.djgpp.games.

            - Requires months to vote on the group, vote may not
              succeed.

        Newgroup alt.os.msdos.djgpp.games.

            - Limited propagation

        Newgroup comp.os.msdos.djgpp.allegro.

            - Requires months to vote on the group, vote may not
              succeed.

        Newgroup comp.os.msdos.djgpp.allegro.

            - Limited propagation

        Tom
