At risk of starting an old Holy War(tm), EMACS sucks. Stick to RHIDE. They
don't call EMACS Eight Megabytes And Constantly Swapping for nothing.
Or EMACS Makes A Cray Slow...

As for making Allegro, if you use a win95 DOS box, set the DPMI memory to
65535. If that still doesn't work, reboot, hold F8, and choose Command
Prompt Only and run it there. (This is likely a problem only on an 8 meg
machine.)
