Alex, I have almost completed a game very similar to the one you are describing It's a Sonic/Mario clone made up of a (tile-based) level editor and some code that plays the levels. As I say, it's not quite finished yet (only a few more routines to go ;-) but I am happy to e-mail you the source if you want to take a look. Neil
