Hello All!

First of all, could I get you Aubrey to forward this to everyone on the
Contact List?

I haven't talked to you all for a long time, since I have been busy with
Final Exams at University, so I thought I would fill you in on the
progress of Freedows, and further opportunities available in new positions
on the team.

As for myself, I have finished my last final of the semester, and will be
working full-time on Freedows until September, at which time I will be
back in University.

As for the project... Currently, we are in great need of developers for
the Kernel, Command Line Interface and the FOOIS GUI. These are of the
greatest importance at this time. I would ask of you, if you are a
developer, please contact Joachim Breitsprecher or Martin Kortmann
(kortmann AT muenster DOT netsurf DOT de) if you wish to work on the Kernel. The CLI
is Davis Sickmon's job (midryder AT solgate DOT com) and the FOOIS (Freedows
Object Oriented Interface System) is my task (Reece Sellin,
freedows AT kamloops DOT net). I do know that we have 100+ developers available,
and, unfortunately, only a small percentage (10-15%) of those are
currently working. If you are on the development team, I would strongly
recommend, in fact, nearly demand ;-) that you get onto the Freedows
Listserv, ASAP. If you need info on joining it, please send an e-mail to
Aubrey Milliard, the Freedows Recruitment Administrator at
aubrey AT golden DOT net.

I would like to take this opportunity to announce that we my publicist
will be making a press release sometime next week. We are going to send
it to several international news agencies, and, if all goes well, we
should see Freedows article's appearing around the world. Also, at this
time, I would like to thank all those that are working extremely hard to
make this project a reality. Through strength and dedication, we will
acheive our goal of having Freedows released sometime in 1998. As always,
any published articles will be scanned and placed on the offical homepage.

If you are a beta tester on this project, we also need your help, in
other areas other than testing. Many testers are already on the listserv,
providing a great deal of new ideas. We also need Alpha Testers, whose
responsibility would be to test new code each day, and assure that it is
working completely before proceeding onto new sections. I also need
somebody to lead up the Alpha group. As for the beta testing lead, I
believe we may already have somebody for the job.

If you can code in HTML, and/or would like to help the project leads with
their status reports/spec sheets, please contact me, as I am compiling a
list. More explicitly, for the HTML side, we need people that will work
on site updates, and the major renovation that is needed, people that will
administrate the on-line Mailing List mirror, and we also need people that
will HTML any text document we send to them, such as White Papers.

We also need people to help compile the Freedows E-Zine. This will, of
course, include HTML coding, too, but it certainly is not limited to that.
If you are not sure if you can help, or in what ways you can, please,
give me an e-mail. It is extremely important that not only developers
work on Freedows, but the Beta Testers, who represent the end-user of the
product will as well.

David Murphy is currently working as Beta PR Rep for Freedows. Any
questions about Beta Testing, or the project can be sent to him at
dbmptl AT fast DOT net. You will likely be hearing from him very shortly...

Additionally, if you have sent e-mail to my R_SELLIN AT cariboo DOT bc DOT ca
address in the last day, I will not receive it, as that account has been
terminated. freedows AT kamloops DOT net is the address until May 10, and I'll
let you know what my new one will be once I change ISP's. Slightly slower
responses can be had from my reeces AT geocities DOT com address, which I will
check about once per day.

And, finally, and probably most important of all, please, spread the
word! The more people that know about Freedows, and the site
(http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/7519), the more people we will
have on board, and the faster our project will grow!

Thank you for your continuing support!

	Sincerely,

	Reece K. Sellin
	Project Lead
	Freedows '98
