That version of gcc is seriously out of date.  Visit
<http://www.simtel.net/pub/simtelnet/gnu/djgpp/>, and get the file
'v2/readme.1st' to see what you need to download to upgrade DJGPP to the
latest versions.

I've never heard of that kind of problem, though, even in DJGPP v1.12...
