Subject: ANNOUNCE: DJGPP installer 1.00beta

This is to announce that I have uploaded the DJGPP installer 1.00beta to
ftp://ftp.delorie.com/incoming directory. The installer has been uploaded
as an SFX ZIP which decompresses into three files: djinst.exe, install.dat
and djinst.zip. After that you should run djinst.exe which will install
the sources to contrib/ subdirectory of selected dir (c:/djgpp by
default). The installer makes use of bison and flex tools, so to compile
it from scratch you will need these from the DJGPP 2.01 distribution. I
have included compiled versions of parser and lexer for your convenience.

Features of the installer include:

  * Nice windowed UI
  * Simple script language
  * Internal (fast) support for ZIP decompression
  * Display of formatted (actually colored) text during and after the
    installation
  * full progress report

The installer has been compiled and tested under the following systems:

  * Caldera OpenDOS
  * M$-DOG 6.xx
  * M$-DOG 7.00 (Win95 w/o GUI)
  * Win95 DOS Box

I was unable to test it under DOSEMU with Linux but I suspect it *might
not* work in that environment!

I will appreciate any feedback and comments as well as all bug reports.
Thanks!
