I hate to disappoint you, but most of us use MIME aware tools (ever hear
of Netscape?  Eudora?  Agent?).  It's the standard method for attaching
stuff to news and email posts.  For me, Netscape puts the attachment in
a neat little box at the bottom with a link I can click on to download
it.  ;)

Of course, it's still impolite to post large attachments to a non-binary
newsgroup, particularly one that gets mirrored to a mailing list.  The
one that was posted is on the borderline.
