the only reason i am posting anything on this is because i hope whoever
wrote this will realize that if he/she actually had the decency and
brains to be able to voice his opinion without resorting to obscenities
will publicly apologize in a non-anonymous manner.

i apologize to the mailing list subscribers for imposing this on them.

how come you cc'd the following nonsense to him then? you are very
personal and you cannot even accept responsibility for what you are
saying.

i hope the following will help you come to grips with your personality
problems:

  There are four sorts of men:
  He who knows not and knows not he knows not: he is a fool -- shun him;
  He who knows not and knows he knows not: he is simple -- teach him;
  He who knows and knows not he knows: he is asleep -- wake him;
  He who knows and knows he knows: he is wise -- follow him.

                                              Arabian proverb

in my opinion eli certainly falls in the last category, at least in
matters pertaining to djgpp.   ;-)

it is not an awkward answer. i think you have totally missed meaning of
"Frquently Asked Questions". if something is a FAQ, and somebody tells
you it is so, you go find the FAQ and look at it. that is the rule. if
you have no way of getting the FAQ (which is impossible to believe given
that you already have the djgpp distribution), then you ask for it
nicely. and above all, you read the README.1ST file.

people ought to think to themselves "this seems like a beginners'
question. and that darn README.1ST file told me to download and read the
FAQ. maybe i should see if this question is mentioned there..."
otherwise, the newsgroup becomes a forum where only "why are exe's so
big", "how to compile" etc etc are discussed. therefore, people have to
be reminded that they should do their homework. after all, the reason i
use djgpp, the reason i read the group or subscribe to the mailing list
is because i get something out of it. if all the group contains is
information that i readily have available, why should i, or more
importantly, anyone who have actually read the FAQ stay here? what will
you have then???

if they do not have time to read the FAQ, how do they have time to post
a message?

> Any dim shit could tell'em to 'Read the FAQ'

and any such person could read the FAQ. more importantly, if i miss
something that is in the FAQ, i expect to be told so. this is how UseNet
works.

one would think the opposite should be true. that is, if something is
too complicated and may be requires a different kind of an answer, then
it would be natural to give a different explanation.

how old are you?

i would like to keep you to a minimum. i would like to be able to
respond to you personally (not to swear at you, but to be able to tell
you these things without feeling extremely stupid that i am falling into
a spammer's trap.
