I disagree with that assessment.  From my experience, it should be
much easier to port your MSVC sources to DJGPP and then use DJGPP
throughout, than to try compiling DJGPP with MSVC (which btw still
doesn't solve your problem of compiling your front

I don't have any real experience with the Cygnus port.  From what I've
heard, it seems that it is still in beta phase, not something you can
use as a ready production environment.
