The 0x330 port is for output to an external MIDI device; if you don't have
one you're stuck with crappy OPL3 synthesis. This also goes for the AWE32,
since Creative are not willing to release DJGPP-compatible AWE32 drivers to 
the general public.

If you do have an external MIDI device, have you tried editing the 
SOUND.CFG file as recommended in allegro.txt?
