Paul,
i was thinking your recent experience should make you resist the
temptation to use an overly harsh tone in your responses but apparently
it is not so.
please go to http://www.delorie.com/djgpp to read what djgpp is about:
DJGPP is a complete 32-bit C/C++ development system for Intel 80386 (and
higher) PCs running DOS. It includes ports of many
GNU development utilities. The development tools require a 80386 or
newer computer to run, as do the programs they produce. In
most cases, the programs it produces can be sold commercially without
license or royalties.
now, personally, i may like the gnu and fsf philosophy. also, so long as
i have another source of income, i can make the software i write
available in accordance with that philosophy. however, so long as this
person is not using the portions of the c++ library that falls under the
gnu license, there is nothing wrong with him trying to earn some money.
this is missing the main point, though. you do _not_know_ that what he
asked for is for shareware locks. the comp.os.msdos.djgpp group is for
people to share ideas and get help in issues relating to programming
using djgpp (this is a vague definition, see the ongoing discussion
regarding the retro-moderation of the group), not for attacking people
who ask for help.
