MMX could stand for MultiMediaXtensions or MakingMicro$softX[...] or
whatever.
MMX adds ~50 instructions to the processor to 'help' you with multimedia
n stuff. Go to iNTEL to read more on it. Of course your programs have to
be compiled using MMX instructions for the thingie to work :)
The only one I know about is Unreal from Epic...it promises real-time
high-color....
