Hi,
I have an interesting problem. I am writing a program which started in BCC
4.5 and migrated to DJGPP when the 16-bit compiler couldn't handle the
job. I am now using RHIDE with the Jan/27 bugfix. I am also experimenting
with Linux, it is much more stable than Dos, even Novell 7.0 or OpenDos
7.01 which I just downloaded. Memory management has not yet been fixed.
The problem is with a program I have written, and I need it to work
reliably ASAP. When I compile and run in RHIDE (gcc 2.7.2.1) I get one set
of output, If I run from dos cmd line, a different set of output. Running
the same program from Linux w/gcc 2.7.2 agrees with the dos version.
Running on a Sparc w/gcc 2.7.2 dissagrees with all but is only a few
percent off from the Linux run, perhaps 2-3% max, no problem there.
Also, if I perform several runs within RHIDE, I may get different results,
it seems to switch between 3 sets of output, one actually agrees with the
Dos/Linux run.
Any ideas where to look? I reinstalled the entire thing (DJGPP/RHIDE)in a
new partition, that solved the frequent crashes I was getting before,
still happens, but not often.
I would prefer e-mail to barc0033 AT centre DOT uwi DOT tt .
Thanks,
Nigel
