I'm a neat freak, I like my programs to _behave_, especially concerning
screen output, you have no idea how mad I was when QBasic insisted on
wrapping output onto the next line when I knew darn well the output would
fit within the designated start point and the right edge of the screen.

I'm not sure I follow, how so? Do you mean as to the error message that
djtar could not find the requested file? TEMP.DAT gets created in either
case, I simply check for a zero length file.
