Not a bug, really. Just annoying sometimes. printf() output is
buffered
and doesn't get to the console until the '\n' is sent (as you noted). If
you
must get to the screen before \n you need an un-buffered function like,
in djgpp, cprintf() declared in conio.h. See if Watcom has conio.h too.
