aside from the educational/learning benefit of writing an OS, i don't see
any other benefit. there are so many, excellent, free OS's out there which
aren't hamstrung by MSDOG limits. perhaps a full implementation of
POSIX.1c threads for DJGPP (including preemptible blocking I/O) would be
more attainable, not to mention more practical (after all, why reinvent
the wheel?)
