The source for (most of?) O'Reilly's _lex & yacc_ book is at:
ftp://ftp.uu.net/.vol/1/published/oreilly/nutshell/lexyacc/progs.tar.Z 

Most information can be had in the man and info pages.  The book is worth
reading to learn lex/flex and yacc/bison and I still refer to it now and
then.  Browse through it a book store (if that's an option) and see what you
think.
