Hi,

I started to think about why the DOS extender does
not support multithreaded programs.

As far as I know the task switching and the memory
protection are done by the CPU ( x86 ) not the OS.

( Anyway, why do we protect the memory if there is
  only one process ? ;).

My question is that, is it possible to make a DOS
extender ( or modify some existing ), to support
multithreading or I missed something ?

David.

PS: if it is not possible, the only advantage of a
32 bit compiler is the flat memory modell ?
