Win95 LFNs are horrible. As you said above, it's a complete kludge!
For those who don't know the gory details, Windows just adds more
entries in the FAT for longer file names. So, if you have a 16 letter
filename, it uses up two FAT entries! It's really screwy IMHO. :) 

Another thing...that Temporary Internet Files folder is REALLY screwed
up! In Explorer, only one big directory shows up. Under DOS, four
CACHE# directories are there. If you try to open a cached file in
Explorer, it returns an error message, because the file is REALLY in
one of the CACHE# directories! Urg... What a horrible OS. :) But I am
getting off topic. I'll quit now!
