here is my problem...
i can compile fine using djgpp (gcc), but not using rhIDE...

whatever i make outside of rhIDE (i.e. at the DOS prompt) stays made...
whatever i make in rhIDE, however, does not stay made...
...a given program will compile/link in rhIDE and run when shelled...
...but as soon as i quit, the .o and .exe files no longer exist...
...i find this to be particularly irksome, especially after having
    PASSIVELY manipulated those .o and .exe files while shelled...

a second problem i have with rhIDE...
whenever i choose to 'Build All', rhIDE terminates w/o warning,,,
but ONLY IF i have not already choosen to 'Compile' or 'Make'...
...in which case the files are touted as being 'up to date'...
...which they, in that case, are...
