It isn't much help, but bash is working in my limited tests under
Linux-2.0.27, dosemu-0.64.2 (and I had been testing with 1.3.12). 

The bash I have is bsh1147b (389120 byte exe).  go32-v2 reports
0Kb swap on my system also.

Now, if I could just use emx-ld in dosemu.  The typical message 
during a link is of the form:

  C:\EMX\BIN\ld.exe: Permission denied for a.out
