Ouch, you don't need to do all this...

If you installed DOS 6.2 first, Win95 will have the option at boot-time
to boot to your old version of ms-dos. Usually F4 will do this (hit it
when the system says "Starting Windows 95..." and it should take you
to DOS 6.2. If this doesn't work, hit F8 and it will bring up a menu
with the option to boot to your old version of MS-DOS.

The only thing you will have to make sure of, is that you have set-up
your autoexec and config files to point to your 3.1 distribution when
you boot to DOS 6.22 (Win95 uses its own autoexec and config if they
are available)
